Educating Future Conservationists: Snake Rescue & Management Awareness Session

At Mithila Wildlife Trust, we believe that students play a crucial role in protecting nature and maintaining ecological balance. With this vision, we conducted an awareness session on snake rescue and management at Shree Parwati Anarwati Tetriwati Secondary School(Mithila Bihari -7 Tarapatti). During this session, students learned about the importance of snakes in our ecosystem, how to safely respond to encounters with snakes, and ways to reduce human-snake conflict. By educating young minds, we are building a future generation that understands and respects wildlife rather than fearing it. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the students made the session highly engaging. We are confident that these young conservationists will spread awareness in their communities and help create a safer and more wildlife-friendly environment. A big thank you to the school administration for their support and to all the students for their active participation. Together, let’s continue working towards a future where humans and wildlife coexist peacefully.

Dhanusha Bird Park: A Haven for Birds and Nature Conservation

Founder of PIPAL TREE UK and founder of Mithila Wildlife Trust Siting a glass mosaic at the bird park Nestled near Mithila Bihari-3 Mithileshwar, Dhanusha Bird Park is a growing sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of rare and migratory birds. This park is designed not only as a refuge for endangered species but also as a key conservation site that protects the natural habitat from overgrazing and other environmental threats. A Safe Haven for Birds Dhanusha Bird Park serves as an essential rest stop for migratory birds and a permanent home for many rare species. By creating a diverse and dense forest environment, the park provides the perfect setting for birds to nest, breed, and thrive. The aim is to ensure that these birds, which are increasingly losing their natural habitats, have a safe place where they can continue their life cycles undisturbed. Ecotourism and Community Development Beyond conservation, the bird park is set to become a center for ecotourism. Visitors will be able to observe a wide variety of birds in their natural habitat while learning about their ecological importance. The park will also feature bird mosaics, with a goal of showcasing 100 unique mosaics, making it an attraction for bird lovers and art enthusiasts alike. This initiative will help boost local tourism and provide economic opportunities for the community. Protecting Nature for the Future The creation of this bird park also serves a larger environmental goal restoring and preserving the ecosystem. The area was once at risk due to overgrazing, which led to habitat destruction. Through reforestation and habitat management, Dhanusha Bird Park is ensuring that the land remains fertile and sustainable for both birds and other wildlife. Dhanusha Bird Park is more than just a conservation project; it is a vision for the future a place where people and nature can coexist in harmony. As the park continues to develop, it will become a model for bird conservation and ecotourism in Nepal. Whether you are a bird enthusiast, a conservationist, or simply someone who apprecia tes nature, this park is a must-visit destination. —————————————————-> Join us in supporting this initiative and be a part of the movement to protect and preserve Nepal’s rich birdlife!

Empowering Children Through “Community Learning Centers”

Education is a basic human right; however, numerous children in the Madhesh Province of Nepal, particularly those from underprivileged communities, do not have access to it. Factors such as poverty, geographic obstacles, and social barriers often prevent these children from attending school. Acknowledging this urgent issue, Mithila Wildlife Trust, with the assistance of PIPAL TREE, has made a noteworthy move by establishing Community Learning Centers (CLCs) in the Dhanusha district and other areas of the province. What is a Community Learning Centre? A Community Learning Centre is a free education hub where children, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds, receive tuition and learning support. Many of these children either do not attend school at all or struggle with their studies due to a lack of proper guidance. The CLCs bridge this gap by offering free tuition and educational resources to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn.                           How We Operate – Local Teachers: We believe in community-led education. That’s why we have recruited teachers from the same communities who understand the children’s needs and challenges. – Inclusive Learning: Any child who wants to learn is welcome, no matter their background. -Pipal Tree an UK based charitable organization help us provide training with our internal fund. How many Community Learning Center we have? We are successfully running four CLCs. As of today our Dhanusha Dham CLC has 170 Students, Lakkar CLC has 56 Students, Janakpur CLC has 25 Students and Bhaluwaha CLC has 50 Students. These CLCs have students from classes 1 to 8. The locations of the different CLCs are as follows:   Kamala Municiplity-5 Lakar (Salhes Tole)  Kamala Municiplity-5 Bhaluwaha Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan-7 (Kohariy Tole) Dhanushadham municipality-1 Makhanpur (Redcross Tole)  Our mission is ongoing, and we aim to establish more such centers to reach every child in need. Join Us in This Mission Mithila Wildlife Trust’s initiative is not just about education, it’s about empowering communities and creating a better future. If you believe in the power of education and want to support us in this journey, you can contribute in various ways, volunteering, spreading awareness, or providing resources. Together, we can make education accessible for every child! For more information, visit our website or contact us.
