Mithila Wildlife Trust is deeply hono
ured to have received a conservation award at the 6th Conservation Asia Congress 2026 in Kathmandu. As one of six awardees recognised during the conference, this moment is both a celebration and a powerful reminder of what collective commitment can achieve for nature and people.
This recognition belongs to everyone who makes MWT’s work possible: our dedicated team, volunteers, partners, supporters, and—above all—the local communities of the Mithila region. Their knowledge, resilience, and active participation are at the heart of every rescue, awareness programme, conservation action, and step toward peaceful human–wildlife coexistence.
Across the Mithila landscape, MWT works to protect biodiversity while supporting the people who live alongside it. Our efforts range from snake rescue and conservation initiatives to community awareness, habitat protection, youth engagement, and programmes that help uplift marginalised communities. These are not separate goals; they are connected by one belief: lasting conservation succeeds when people and wildlife thrive together.
The award encourages us to continue this work with renewed energy. It recognises that conservation is not only about safeguarding species and habitats—it is also about building understanding, strengthening local stewardship, and creating a future in which communities can live safely and sustainably with wildlife.
