Mithila Wildlife Trust has distributed integrated relief and nutrition packages to the 50 Chepang families with priority to pregnant and post-natal mothers of Rapti Municipality 11, Chitwan, Bagamati Province, Nepal. It was distributed on 7 June 2020 at Rapti Municipality. Nutritional packages were mostly provided individually to the pregnant and post-natal mothers for the nourishment of their child, for getting properly balanced diet food so they should not suffer during the childbirth and after the birth also they can maintain their body structure by consuming healthy diets.

Integrated Relief and nutrient package distribution in Bara District

Mithila Wildlife Trust distributes special integrated relief package to 150 needy families in 3 municipalities of Bara district on Jeshtha 21 in Feta village at ward no.1. In this pandemic, we are trying to fulfill the needs of the needy people to survive in this time. An integrated relief package has been distributed today to the extremely poor, disabled, poor, single women, pregnant women, and pregnant mothers in Triveni Tol of the district with the financial assistance of Mithila Wildlife Trust at Mithila Bihari Municipality Ward no.  Mithila Wildlife Trust with financial support from Chora Chori, Gandy’s foundation, Last Night a DJ Saved My Life and Bhore has planned to provide special relief packages to 2250 needy families in 15 districts of the country, including single women, pregnant women and the disabled. The relief was distributed to the family. Today is the 72nd day of the Government of Nepal’s lockdown on the Corona Virus (COVID- 19) which has spread like a pandemic all over the world. The Union Territory and the local level have been working on a daily wage in case of lockdown Rajesh Prasad Kushwaha, a representative of Mithila Wildlife Trust, said that the Mithila Wildlife Trust has distributed the relief to 150 families yesterday and today while maintaining the social distance. Nepal Youth Council Bara, Bhojpuri Times Daily and local organization Sakhi in coordination with women’s partner organizations has distributed rice, pulses, potatoes, onions, cooking oil, salt, swine, bath soap, eggs, green leafy vegetables, bitter gourd. Saving Nepalese from covid-19 pandemic, Hunger and Malnutrition

Mithila Wildlife Trust have certainly been making the news in south Nepal as alongside the NGO Bhore. We have been distributing food supplies to some of the poorest families during lockdown in 15 districts of Nepal. ChoraChori has funded their “Integrated Nutritional Packages” that has supplemented the staples of 15 Kg rice, 2 Kg lentils, 2.5 Kg potatoes, 2 Ltr oil etc with 5 Kg green vegetables. We are aiming to provide them food until the lockdown. Here you can see, we are providing bitter gourd, gourd and cucumber as part of the package which are great balanced diet for young mothers and little children. We are continuously been trying to reach as much as people who need help. They are living their life very sadly because of the shortage of food. They are unable to feed their family for two times a day but as they get food from our trust they became happy.June 13, Birgunj. Relief has been distributed to 35 Dhangad-Musahar families of Pakaditola in Jira Bhavani Municipality-1. Prakash Tharu, a social worker, said that the Mithila Wildlife Trust and Bhore had distributed relief to the slum dwellers after learning that the people of Pakditola were deprived of relief packages from all three parts of the state. With the financial support of chorachori, Gandiz and Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, and in a collaboration with Mithila Wildlife Trust and Bhore , he managed the relief distribution in this pandemic time .

Food relief at kamala municipality by Mithila wildlife trust

  Food relief has been done at kamala municipality by Mithila wildlife trust in support with Chora Chori, Bhore and other supportive organizations. The situation of dalit people at Sarabe machali tol(a community of kamala municipality) was  so dreadful. Our relief team reached out there to distribute the  relief materials. A total of 26 families of kamala municipality received the relief with the help of chairman of MWT, Mr.Dev narayan mandal, Sub-chairman Rasilal pandit, Local social activist of kamala movement, Binod sahanugiya , shyam kumar mahato and including all those who helped us to distribute the relief successfully. The 26 families received :, 15 kg rice 2 kg pulses 1 litre cooking oil 3 kg potato 1 kg salt 1 kg onion 1 kg soya beans 2 pcs soaps It’s a great support of the people to save several lives during this outbreak. Your support is essential for us.

Integrated relief and nutrition package to save Nepalese lives from the pandemic.

On to the date of 26th May 2020 we distributed integrated relief and special nutrition package for 2,250 extremely poor families. With the coordination, cooperation and support of Chora Chori, Gandys, Last Night a DJ Saved my Life and many local reluctant personalities, we were able to save the lives of inaccessible and extremely needy families from starvation and malnutrition during such a harsh period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Here’s the list of relief materials that we were able to distribute in the communities: Materials per family in the most deprived communities (1 to 9): 1. Rice: 20 kg 2. Pulses: 2 kg 3. Edible oil: 2 liters 4. Green vegetables: 5 kg 5. Soybean: 1 kg 6. Potatoes: 2 kg 7. Onion: 1 kg 8. Iodized salt: 1 kg 9. Soap: 2 pieces For pregnant, maternity, children under five and adolescents only: 10. Jwano: 250 grams only for one month of pregnancy 11. Gedagudi or Quanti: 2 kg for pregnant and lactating women only 12. Best Flour Material: 3 kg (only at home with children from 6 months to 2 years) 13. Eggs: 1 carat (for pregnant and lactating women only, also for non-vegetarians) 14. Fruits: 1 dozen bananas, 2 kg of cucumbers, watermelon: 1 piece (only for pregnant and lactating women) 15. Sanitary pads: 1 packet (only 10 to 19-year-olds in relief families) We collect the detailed material from the local health institution and placed it in the package. For this, there will be no expenditure from the money given by the reluctant people. 16. Vitamin A capsules: 2 pieces (for pregnant women within 1 month and children under 6 months to 5 years old only) 17. Albendazole Tablet: (Only for children under 6 months to 5 years old) 14. Iron pills: 1 address (pregnant and one month only) 19. Condom: 30 pieces (each family) 20. Muayak Tape: 1 piece (for the families with the children under the age of 5 five-year-old  only) * The package is subject to modify/change on the availability of materials and needs at the local level.

Giving continuity to our ongoing relief package distribution program to the poor and middle-class families of Dhanusha, we have distributed several packages in Sabaila Municipality of Dhanusha. We have distributed relief package to a total of 38 unprivileged families of Sabaila Municipality-12, Barkurwa, 13-Dholbaja, Kiratpur. MIthila Wildlife Trust with support of charities from UK, Chora Chori, last night a DJ Saved My Life and Gandys-Don’t Just Exist has been distributing food relief materials during Covid-19 pandemic in Province No.-2, Nepal.  Government of Nepal distributed relief materials for once, which was not enough for 15 days. But, since lockdown continues, many families from Tarai Dalit (Mushahar, Dom, Chamar, Tatma, Pasman etc.) and Pahadi Dalit (Chepang, Raute etc.) were affected badly. Some of them went to starvation where some started skipping food at 1 time to save for next day. During distribution of relief materials from local levels, someone who had gone outside (while collecting data) for some work, their name were left in the relief materials distribution list. Someone not having Citizenship Certificate, they didn’t receive relief. Around 100 households only in these 5 Mushahar settlements were also left. Traditionally, people work in day to earn food for night in these communities. Above 50% of their population don’t have Citizenship Certificate lacking their own land and permanent house. So, some external source was only a hope for such poor families. Zoological Society of London (ZSL) had supported a wildlife rescue to Mithila Wildlife Trust, which proven to be the best help during this Covid-19 pandemic. We were able to deliver food items directly to the house of families facing drought due to lockdown. Mayor, Dhanushadham and office of Dhanushadham Municipality, supported us to deliver food in Dhanushadham in their vehicle. This was also a great help during our Covid-19 response initiative. Several youth, youth clubs, community based organizations, social workers, local and national level leaders and community forest user groups supported us during distribution. And data of several wards and communities were collected by media personals during their field reporting. Some of youth clubs informed media personals and media personals informed us. In most of the cases, the media personals went themselves in the community to deliver the food relief materials. With support of our donors and supporters, we could deliver food at the most marginalized communities of Terai Dalit and Pahadi Dalit. Distributing food reliefs to the poor and destitute persons in backward community

  As we all know that the whole country is suffering from this pandemic corona virus. Due to this corona virus all the industries, factories, educational sites etc are closed and people are not able to earn to feed their families. They have to stay in their home with their family members for the safety of everyone but as we all know that without money we are unable to survive for a long time. So, our team ( Mithila wildlife Trust)  with the help of organization named Bhore ( an organization working specially for reaching the unreached community and lead by dalit community) have collabarated for delivering the food relief materials to the poor and destitute persons as well as to the backward community. It was just a big dealing for everyone to survive in this pandemic those people who are earning daily and living their life has a huge problem. Many families hanged and died in this pandemic. So, we are mostly focusing on non privileged and marginalized area. We deliver food relief materials to 2,250 non privileged, marginalized and backward community of 15 districts. The materials are delivered through local active social workers and youth clubs. The relief materials had provided to the family with mother , child , pregnant women , starving family, widows and disabled. Inspite of that our prime focus is on Madhesh Dalit ( Mushahar, Dom, Tatma, Chamar, paswan etc) and pahadi Dalit ( Raute and chepang etc), the distribution will also include the starving familiy from each caste.  We find the location of the poor and destitute family with the help of local supporters and government. There are some charities from Uk, chora chori, last Night a DJ Saved my life and Gandys Don’t just Exist are helping us financially for this noble cause. We have already supported 1,388 households of 7 local levels from same community  with their support in Dhanusha and Siraha district. We’ re expanding our support to the unreached family in 15 districts with the help of local supporters and aimimg to provide them food . Mithila Wildlife Trust, with support of Chora Chori UK, Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, Gandys Foundation and some individual donors, supported non privileged and marginalized community in the global pandemic of COVID-19 for food relief materials. We are thankful to the several youth clubs, community based organizations and individuals for making it possible for us to deliver relief materials directly to the needy family on time. We don’t want to miss an opportunity to thanks Zoological Society of London (ZSL), Nepal for kind contribution of wildlife rescue vehicle to Mithila Wildlife Trust. The vehicle has been proven to be backbone of this food relief distribution program. We were able to deliver food directly to the doorstep of needy families. We would also like to thanks Dhanushadham Municipality office for supporting transportation of food relief materials through Municipality’s vehicle to the non privileged community of Dhanushadham Municipality.
