Rescue Operations

Yesterday after noon a Python was sighted by some farmers  from  Mangalpur village which falls  in buffer zone of Dhanusha Protected Forest (DPF). As MWT got a rescue call, we rashed to the spot in no time as our full team was near to that area for releasing rescued snake in DPF. Unfortunately, our Herpetologist, Mr.Mavish, Biologist Mr.Suvin (Trainee) and their team was not able to sight the snake said by the villagers. After two hour search to get that snake, (as by the different  literature, rearly seen in this area) our herpetologist found number of holes and caves near to the pond into which the said snake might have escaped. According to villagers, snake was around ten feet long, yellow and brown patches with elongated triangular head. After showing the photographs and  identification features, Mavish confirmed the snake as Python sp.

Our team was very glad to say that we are getting into the peoples as, the number of rescue calls are getting increased day by day.
