Recently while returning with NCell team after survey of picnic spot area, we saw a Forsten’s Cat Snake (Boiga forsteni) near Ramdhuni Temple inside Dhanushadham Protected Forest. We rushed to the snake as it was exciting for us to see this species of snake in Dhanusha. It was noted that this species of the snake is found in mountain area of Nepal but not in Terai region yet.

Unfortunately the snake was killed and we saw was dead body. We started asking the people nearby and got to know that it was killed by the pilgrims came to the temple. Two number of same snake was there inside temple, one was able to escape by god’s grace and another was killed by those cruel pilgrims. They could have called Forest Deptt. staff from Range Post which is close to the temple but they killed instead. It was really socking for us that the snake was killed inside the protected forest.
