Dehydrating Cobra got new life!

Early morning on 21.04.2014, MWT wildlife rescue number received a call that One mentally sick guy has kept a snake in his bag.

MWT Chairman and Office Assistant reached to the site within no time. As the guy was mentally sick he was not letting us search his bag. We managed to search his bag and found a dehydrating cobra inside. He had kept it since last 15-20 days.

We were shocked to hear history of this snake from him. He added “I had seen a night documentary show which taught me not to kill snakes, kill rats as rats are harmful and snakes are harmless.” The effect of our night wildlife documentary show made him to rescue it from road. He didn’t remember that the snake can die without food and water. He simply rescued as he thought people will kill it if left on the road.

It was really painful to see the dehydrating cobra which was not even able to move properly or to raise its’ hood.

We rescued the snake and brought to our Janakpur office. It is recovering very well. And is able to raise its’ hood after proper feeding and care.

Thanks to the caller, Mr. Sanjay Thakur to help save one speechless life.
